Overview
I spent nearly a decade designing and evolving the product experience at ThoughtExchange, a cloud based, AI-powered engagement platform that helps organizations gather and act on large-scale community feedback.
Unlike traditional one-way surveys, it fosters two-way participation by allowing users to share ideas, evaluate others’ input, and engage in discussion—helping organizations tap into collective intelligence for better decision-making.
I joined as the sole Product Designer, tasked with transforming the platform from a dated, embedded-style interface into a modern SaaS experience. As the company grew, my role expanded to shaping UX strategy, establishing scalable design patterns, and helping grow the design function.
My work focused on improving the platform’s two core journeys:
- Leaders creating Exchanges to collect feedback (Leader Experience – customer facing)
- Participants contributing ideas and insights (Participant Experience – public facing)
Partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success, I used research, testing, and customer feedback to identify usability challenges and improve key workflows across the platform. I also created and helped maintain the company’s Design System. Working closely with the team and developers to carefully sync design system components and patterns.
The projects below highlight several of those initiatives — from simplifying Exchange creation, to improving the participant experience, introducing templates that helped leaders get started faster, to analyzing and reporting results.
